UNITED SIKHS Commends ACLU and Texas Civil Rights Project Following Federal Court Decision Blocking Key Portions of Texas SB
A federal court, likely the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, has once again blocked key provisions of Texas Senate Bill 4 (SB4), delivering a significant win for civil rights advocates. The decision, stemming from the ongoing case L.M.L. & V.A.L. v. Texas, saw UNITED SIKHS commend the collaborative legal challenge led by the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) and the Texas Civil Rights Project. This ruling temporarily halts the controversial state law that sought to empower local police with broad authority to arrest and deport individuals suspected of illegal entry, thereby reaffirming the federal government's primary jurisdiction over immigration.
